Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero World Tour

INB4 PLAY A REAL INSTRUMENT

Playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero has become somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. I've established that I have no patience or discipline to master a real instrument, and would rather spend my time tapping at way at a plastic guitar or pounding the fuck out of a fake drum set to songs that I know regardless of whether I am alone or with friends. If you have a problem with this, don't read on, if you have a problem with it, let's talk it up, let's cause a shitstorm.

After playing through Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in a single afternoon and contemplating how much of a waste of money it was. I didn't actually buy it, which was a good thing. The Steven Tyler character models were scary and broken enough to provide nightmares for a week or so. All in all, the experience left me wanted more scrolling note charts and plastic instruments.

I now turn to my attention to the upcoming Guitar Hero and Rock Band games (it is to be noted that Rock Band 2 is already out on the 360). Some may ask "What is the difference between the two games?" or "Which game is right for me?" well I am here to answer these questions for you. I would assume that if you are reading this you know somewhat about how these games are played. Here are the differences between Guitar Hero and Rock Band, aside from the different forms of instruments and different songs.

Guitar Hero World Tour
-The ability to create and share your own songs
-downloadable content on PS3, 360 and Wii versions (fuck year, Wii)
-deeper customization options including instrument customization

Rock Band 2
-The ability to import all songs and DLC from the first Rock Band
-downloadable content available on PS3 and 360 versions

Other than those reasons listed above, the games are pretty much the same thing, it all depends on the music.

I will provide you a (somewhat) accurate tier list of the (notable, not all of them) songs found in both games. Each of these songs have been ranked in the Iron Chef ratings of plating, taste and creativity

As for me, I plan to buy Guitar Hero World Tour for the Wii (along with the new instruments) and Rock Band 2 (only the game) for the Wii or PS2

Guitar Hero World Tour songs are in Green font
Rock Band 2 are in Blue font

WARNING: My musical tastes differ from yours, so don't get mad if I don't like something you like, this isn't meant to be taken seriously and I am not the definitive opinion when it comes to music
